The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) on Sep. 30 upheld an order removing social media posts that link Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the Liberal Party's presidential candidate, to a plan to strip Our Lady of Aparecida of her title as Brazil's patron saint. All seven justices backed the ban. But the version that emerged from a 14-hour virtual session is narrower than the one Justice André Mendonça, the court's deputy chief justice, signed on Sep. 25.
