Brazilian peanuts have a market abroad. Now they want to expand domestically

Driven primarily by exports, Brazil’s peanut production has tripled over the past decade, reaching 1.3 million tonnes in the 2024-2025 harvest season. The figures come from a recent report by AbexBr, the sector’s flagship association, which for the first time since its founding in 2009 sought to map the country’s peanut production chain.

The sector’s total revenue was estimated at BRL 18.6 billion (USD 3.3 billion) in 2024, with a gross product value of BRL 7.6 billion and roughly 300,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to the report.
