Brazil braced for impact as China extends beef investigation

The Chinese government in late November extended the deadline to conclude an anti-dumping investigation into imported beef, potentially opening the door to the adoption of safeguards aimed at protecting domestic producers.
Launched in December 2024, the inquiry followed claims by the China Animal Agriculture Association and nine provincial groups that a surge in beef imports since 2019 had undercut local prices and caused financial harm.
