Brazilian markets declared a winner on Monday, three weeks before voters get the final say. The Ibovespa, São Paulo's benchmark stock index, crossed 200,000 points for the first time and closed at a record of about 207,000, adding nearly BRL 500 billion in market value. The Brazilian real gained more than 4% against the US dollar and briefly traded below BRL 5 per dollar, a psychological threshold, before settling at BRL 5.001.
