Brazil's offshore wind sector gets long-awaited regulatory push

Brazil's National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) on Wednesday approved a resolution to establish the guidelines that will govern the country's nascent offshore wind industry — a decision the sector had been waiting on for more than a year, following the passage of a landmark legal framework in January 2025.
The resolution sets in motion the drafting of a regulatory decree to implement the new legislation. The Mines and Energy Ministry committed to delivering the decree by next month as well as defining the approval process for the so-called Prior Interference Declaration — a key permit in project development…
