Brazilian Angus beef exports skyrocketed in 2025

Brazilian exports of certified Angus beef surged 260% in 2025 from a year earlier, reaching 11,286 tonnes and surpassing the total shipped over the previous decade, according to data from the Brazilian Angus certification program.

As is the case for the country’s beef market at large, Brazil consumes most of its Angus meat domestically, and roughly one-fifth of the 53,000 tonnes of certified Angus beef Brazil produced last year was exported. Output rose after a 20% increase in the number of cattle slaughtered, also a record since the program was established in 2003.

Angus remains a small niche within Brazil’s vast beef industry. The country exported 3.5 million tonnes of all types of beef in 2025 — 20% more than in 2024 — and Angus beef made up less than 0.4% of that total.
