Justice Luís Roberto Barroso will leave the Supreme Court after this week — and the identity of the person President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva picks to replace him is one of the biggest stories in Brasília right now. While sectors on the left are urging Lula to pick a woman (preferably a black woman), the nomination seems at this point to be between two men: Solicitor General Jorge Messias and Senator Rodrigo Pacheco.
