Not long ago, opposition to US interventionism was a rare point of consensus across Latin America’s political spectrum. Even the Lima Group — a multilateral organization created by the right-wing governments of Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and others in 2017 — openly rejected the use of force against Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, despite not recognizing him as president.
