What keeps Brazilian beef out of large importer markets

The European Union has dropped Brazil from its list of countries cleared to export several animal products to the bloc, citing insufficient guarantees that farmers there are not using antimicrobials in their livestock. 

Unless Brazilian authorities overturn the decision before September 3, the country will be barred from exporting a wide range of products — including poultry and beef — to one of its most important markets.
