Brazilians have been entering China visa-free since mid-2025. And as of this Monday, Chinese visitors have been able to do the same here, for stays of up to 30 days, through Dec. 31, 2026.
The arrangement, announced by Vice President Geraldo Alckmin at a tourism fair in Fortaleza last week and formalized this week in the official gazette, covers tourism, business, conferences and cultural and sporting activities. It coincides with the Brazil-China Cultural Year, a campaign both governments have invoked to emphasize closer ties between the countries.
