Brazilian manufacturing drops 30 spots in global production ranking

Brazil’s manufacturing sector dropped more than 30 positions in a global ranking of industrial output in the second quarter of 2025, compared with the same period last year. The country now ranks 59th among 79 economies with available data, according to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The figures come from a new report by the Industrial Development Studies Institute (IEDI), a São Paulo-based think tank, which highlights that Brazil’s manufacturers are stuck in a loop of short-lived recoveries followed by stagnation.
