Bolsonaro’s coup plot returns to the Supreme Court

One month after the Supreme Court convicted the masterminds of a coup plot designed to keep former President Jair Bolsonaro in power after he lost the 2022 election, another group connected to the coup attempt faces its potential comeuppance. 

A Supreme Court panel begins its trial today of seven defendants accused of spearheading a disinformation strategy to undermine the country’s electronic voting system and putting pressure on institutions during Bolsonaro’s final months in office — ”in an attempt to create the social unrest that would enable an institutional rupture” …
