Petrobras to resume construction of nitrogen fertilizer plant

Brazil's state-controlled oil company Petrobras approved resuming construction on a nitrogen fertilizer plant in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul. The company's board of directors signed off on the project's technical and economic viability a week ago.
The project will require an investment of BRL 1 billion (USD 199 million), with construction set to begin in the second half of the year. The plant, which will produce urea and ammonia — substances used in petrochemical industries and fertilizer production — is expected to become fully operational in 2029.
