Brazil’s wildly popular instant payment system Pix has become the unlikely star of a trade dispute with Washington. In a Section 301 investigation launched on Tuesday, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) accused Brazil of engaging in unfair digital trade and electronic payment practices. While the notice doesn’t explicitly name Pix, the text points to “government-developed electronic payment services” being unfairly advantaged…
