Exclusive: State Grid ready to start building massive power line project

The State Grid Corporation of China, the world’s largest electricity company, is set to begin construction on Brazil’s most significant energy transmission project: a 1.433-kilometer-long network spanning the states of Goiás, Tocantins and Maranhão. The project will cost BRL 18 billion (USD 3 billion) and is expected to start operations by March 2030.

We tell you first. State Grid representatives met last week with Aneel, Brazil’s electric energy agency, to outline the current status of their plans and update regulators on steps already taken to initiate construction. The Brazilian Report contributor André Borges obtained exclusive access to details of the discussions.
