Brazil's federal government launches its latest iteration of its Harvest Plan rural credit program this week, announcing the funds that will be made available for the 2025/2026 season.
A key program for Brazilian agriculture, the Harvest Plan offers subsidized credit to assist farmers in making investments and financing their operations amid climate risks, currency volatility and other factors. It is also a tool for public policy, permitting the government to direct resources to specific goals such as food safety and sustainability practices.
This morning, the government revealed the details for the family farming branch of the plan, offering BRL 89 billion overall (USD 16 billion), including BRL 78.2 billion in credit lines — a modest 3% increase from the previous season…
