US strikes boat near Venezuela; Maduro says video is IA

Trade tariffs are no longer the only weapon Washington is wielding against Latin America. Off the Venezuelan coast, the deployment of American warships has raised tensions. On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that a strike in international waters killed 11 people aboard a vessel allegedly carrying narcotics to the United States.

“We have a lot of drugs pouring into our country, coming in for a long time, and (...) these came out of Venezuela (...) very heavily from Venezuela,” Trump said in remarks from the Oval Office, flanked by military officers.
